the objectivity of love

I’ve loved you for a while, of course, but I was surprised to hear you say it.

I would have said, before, that it doesn’t matter if you love me or not. What matters to me is that I love you, and that you know that I do. How you feel about me in return is quite irrelevant to the fact of my love for you.

The nature of the loop that you threw me for: I don’t think that holds true, anymore, but I’m not sure how to update my calculus.
